Dembs Development announced that it has broken ground on a two-story, 88,000-square-foot Technology Center of Excellence in Beck North Corporate Park in Novi, Michigan. President and CEO of Dembs Development Ryan Dembs made the announcement.
Demb’s Development is building the facility for Stockholm Sweden-based Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division, a global leader in advanced manufacturing technologies and products. The new high-tech center will include an 11,000-square-foot showroom and demonstration area, expansive technical training center and a 15,000-square-foot laboratory and calibration hub.
“Hexagon’s Center of Excellence will drive advanced manufacturing in the region,” said Dembs. “The company plans to consolidate all of its Manufacturing Intelligence business in the greater Detroit area into this new state of the art facility driving operational efficiencies and accelerating its technical and creative capabilities.” Those business areas include MSC Software, Production Software, Q-DAS and its metrology solutions portfolio. The AutonomouStuff and Safety Critical brands of Hexagon’s Positioning Intelligence division will also relocate to the new center.
The building will also incorporate advanced lighting and climate control systems, open and engaging floor plans, experiential and collaborative work stations and common areas, a fitness center, coffee bars, modern multipurpose kitchens and gathering areas and will integrate international design elements throughout.
“This is a disruptive company that is changing the manufacturing paradigm,” said Dembs. “We are proud to be working with them to deliver an environment that supports their vision.”
Construction has begun. The facility is scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2019.
